MORE ABOUT THE HOUSE:

• More photos: www.magicalsantamonicabungalow.sawitonline.com/1970866 Move your cursor over the photos at the bottom to enlarge photos without downloading.

• Good stuff: It’s an 800 sq ft Spanish-style bungalow built in 1927. Kitchen has been recently remodeled (see note below). Lots of strong, hot water in the shower. Great tub for bathing. Really relaxing front porch dining “room.” Whole house is Wified, so you can take your laptop onto the porch, or lounge in bed and answer e-mails. Charming front yard with tall hedges that keep it private. Roomy desk in living room for working. Very bright and airy. Lots of skylights. I’m into bright colors, as you can see from the photos!

• Bungalow is on the grounds of a guest house (Casita) that is also being rented as a vacation rental, so you are likely to meet some interesting people! In the past, two Canadian girlfriends in the travel business BBQ’d with a Russian businessman here with his sister. A French documentary producer joined two parties I held to talk about my summer in Syria…Side Garden

• Not so good stuff, so there are no misunderstandings: It’s not a perfect home (yet!). Glass on kitchen cabs aren’t done. Landscaping in back yard isn’t complete. That’s why this is such a good bargain.

Overall, it’s a comfortable, charming house with a roomy kitchen in a great neighborhood.

• Parking on street is available, but tight. I park in front of the house, blocking my driveway, so my neighbors know that’s “my” spot, which you can use.

• Please, no smoking in the house. I’m OK with smoking on the porch.
